The E-Cat (Energy Catalyser) Mystery

Is the E-Cat Real?
Following on from October 6th testing of Professor Andrea Rossi's allegedly miraculous E-Cat at the University of Bologna, I thought I'd try to work out why such a groundbreaking piece of work, assuming it to be true, wouldn't be featuring more prominently (or even at all) in the mainstream press.
It's not as though the press have never got it wrong before, so what could possibly be at the back of allegations of mass media blackouts?
With another test scheduled for October 28th, Defkalion have announced,
"The technological breakthrough of LENR (or CANR) is no longer speculation. It is a fact that will eventually change the world’s energy problems and its sociopolitical divides through cheap, clean and green energy. The world needs LENR as a new energy source. Although change will not happen over-night, LENR will help reduce CO2 emissions, lower the cost of energy, and provide longevity to our planet’s energy needs."
With Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos being named as one of the private investors backing General Fusion's attempts, “to generate affordable, safe and plentiful energy without greenhouse gas emissions, pollution, or radioactive waste”, reports repeatedly suggest that  fusion techology is still several years away and, even then, it would appear that only about one third of the necessary funding will originate from federal sources.
What have the following companies all got in common?
Private companies
  • Autotrader
  • Elance
  • Groupon
  • Klout
  • Segway
  • Twitter
  • Zynga
Public companies
  • Google
  • VeriSign
  • Travelocity
  • Amazon
  • Netscape
  • Intel
  • AOL
  • EA (games)
  • Symantec
  • Sun Microsystems
All of the above (and many more) are linked by investment funding or venture capital provided by KPCB.
KPCB are now investing in 'Greentech innovation and entrepreneurs' and state on their website that, "Greentech could be the largest economic opportunity of the 21st century. It is an unprecedented challenge that demands great innovation, speed and scale".
I find their "historic alliance" with Generation Investment Management most interesting, to say the least. With Al Gore, chairman of General Investment Management, now also a KPCB partner, who knows where this could lead in the future?
With partners from around the globe, including UK, USA and China, plus such esteemed names as KR Sridkar (former development team leader with NASA) providing advice, this looks exactly the type of crew to back the E-Cat research and development.
Dr Sridkar is listed as one of two strategic limited partners at KPCB... the other is former US Secretary of State, Collin Powell.
If Professor Andrea Rossi really has invented a fully functioning, tested beyond all shadow of a doubt, ENERGY CATALYSER, why aren't the likes of Greentech showing any interest?
Or are they?
I'd like to have said more on Generation Investment Management LLP, other than the fact that their website states it is, "dedicated to long-term investing, integrated sustainability research, and client alignment" , however, their site also looks ridiculously amateurish and has supposedly fallen foul of what's claimed to be fraudulent activities being carried out by Alrehaif Group.

Other sources state otherwise, so I'll leave this little lot with you to decide whatever you want to believe.
